Classic Headquarters’ Annual Banquet
Each year at the show, we have an optional group dinners or banquets. The great people at Classic Headquarters underwrite the cost of the Friday evening dinner, to help keep the price reasonable for all attendees. The dinner is a great way to relax and get re-united with old friends. Tables of 8 allow for nice conversations, and after dessert, just stay seated for the beginning of the Auction. Keep an eye out for Bobby Banana; he usually makes a showing at the banquet – and watch out for the Long Island crew – they love to photo-bomb when they see a camera!
After dinner, we hold a live auction of general and automotive items for charity. Automotive suppliers, businesses and individuals, through their contributions and donations, are to thank for the large array of items which are auctioned. One hundred percent of the proceeds of the auction, in addition to the house half of the 50/50, are donated to charity – most of which is earmarked for the Silence of Mary Home (see below). For proper planning, reservations for the dinner must be made when you register, as they will sell out. You do not need to attend the banquet in order to participate in the Auction.
If you would like to donate an item to the auction, please email info@camaronationals.org
To speed the Auction, we will choose approximately thirty items of special interest for the live auction, with Scott Settlemire and Drake Donovan as our Auctioneers. The balance of the items will be handled with a silent auction, set up in the mall, and awarded at Noon on Saturday.
Dinner menu example: (This year’s menu has not yet been chosen)
Tossed Garden Salad and Assorted Dressing, Rolls and Butter
Glazed Salmon / Chicken Marsala
Steamed Vegetables / Scalloped Pototatos
Various Pies and Cakes
Coffee, Tea, Decaf, Iced Tea, and Lemonade
Much of the money collected at the auction is donated to The Silence of Mary Home – a family style home, open to troubled and disenfranchised or abandoned children and teenagers of the Central Pennsylvania area. Founded by Sue and Vern Rudy, the home is located on Market Street in Harrisburg PA, and is a clean, safe, secure family style environment…with Jesus as it’s main focus. The home provides nutritious, well balanced meals, teaches and monitors household responsibilities of teens, coordinates school activities and connects the teens with social service agencies.
