Each year, after our dinner banquet, we hold a live auction of general and automotive items for charity. in 2020, the auction raised $11,000; bringing the total raised to over $185,000. One hundred percent of the proceeds of the auction, in addition to the house half of the 50/50, are donated to charity – most of which are earmarked for the Silence of Mary Home (see below).
Automotive suppliers, businesses and individuals, through their contributions and donations, are to thank for the large array of items which are auctioned. For proper planning, tickets for the dinner must be pre-ordered with your registration; although everyone is welcome to participate in the Auction, afterward. There is always room for bidding – even if you did not come for the banquet. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, email us at info@camaronationals.org.
To speed the Auction this year, we choose approximately thirty items of particular interest for the live portion of the auction, and the balance of the items are handled with a silent auction. The Lehigh Valley Camaro Club volunteers to staff the auction, and Scott Settlemire and Drake Donovan will be our live Auctioneers.
The Silence of Mary Home is a family style home, open to troubled and disenfranchised or abandoned children and teenagers of the Central Pennsylvania area. Founded by Sue and Vern Rudy, the home is located on Market Street in Harrisburg PA, and is a clean, safe, secure family style environment…with Jesus as it’s main focus. The home provides nutritious, well balanced meals, teaches and monitors household responsibilities of teens, coordinates school activities and connects the teens with social service agencies.
