Judging  in Five Levels, Plus Two Non-Judged Classes

Outdoor Non-Judged
For those who are looking for a fun week-end with their Camaros and Camaro Comrads, and not looking to spend time cleaning and polishing, the Outdoor Non-Judged class is for you.

Participant Vote
Cars will be voted for by popular vote by all Camaro Nationals attendees.  The main Participant Vote class is open to all Camaros, and awards will be given to the  “Top 30” cars in attendance at the Awards Ceremony.

Additionally, there are specific Participant Vote classes for  Hot Wheels  and Firebirds – each with their own  “Top 3” awards.

Heartbeat /  Shine & Show Class
Heartbeat Camaros will be judged by four teams of judges who will be evaluating the overall cleanliness and detailing of the car, along with the body fit & finish, condition of the interior, engine compartment, trunk, chassis, etc; on a 200 point scoring system.  Camaros will not be judged on the beauty of color combination, desirability of drive train, number of options, or if it is modified. Cars will be awarded Gold, Silver, or Bronze Awards if appropriate points levels are achieved.
Like all judged classes, Heartbeat is limited in size based on the number of judges, and may not be available for those who register late, so if you would like to be judged, we suggest pre-registering.

Indoor Non-Judged Class
A limited amount of space is reserved for this class in the Wheel Craft Exhibit Hall.   We all fuss over our Camaros, but for those Camaroists who want to display their beautiful cars, but are extra fussy about the weather, and dust, etc, this class might be a good option.   The Exhibit Hall is well lit, with 8 ft doors at the end, and concrete floors.  Cars will remain in place from Thursday upon arrival until Saturday afternoon at awards.   All Indoor Camaros must be pre-registered.  Click on the link below for more information about this class.  All Camaros in the Exhibit Halls must arrive on Thursday morning, for Load-In, and ready for the show to begin on Friday morning. Cars must stay in place until Load-Out on Saturday after the completion of the Awards Ceremony, or again on Sunday Morning at 8am.  Sorry, no exceptions.

Invitational Display Class
A panel of our staff and top judges choose a handful of special Camaros to round out the Exhibit Halls.  If you have a special, rare, or otherwise radical Camaro, and are interested in being considered, please email photos and description to info@camaronationals.org and  I will present the information to the team.  Click Here for more information about these displays.
All Indoor Camaros must be pre-registered.   All Camaros in the Exhibit Halls must arrive on Thursday morning, for Load-In, and ready for the show to begin on Friday morning.  Cars not in place by 3pm will be replaced with cars on the waiting list.  Cars must stay in place until Load-Out on Saturday after the completion of the Awards Ceremony, or again on Sunday Morning at 8am.  Sorry, no exceptions.

Bow Tie Classes
The Bow Tie classes are intended for Camaros that have been restored to factory original stock – in the condition they would have been in when departing the Norwood or Van Nuys plants.  Camaros in this class compete against a judging sheet on a 1000 point system. Although cleanliness will be scored, the major emphasis will be on duplicating the way the car would have come from the factory.  There is also an additional level of Bow Tie that includes checks to see if a Camaro is a good candidate for the more intense Legends class.    All Indoor Camaros must be pre-registered.   All Camaros in the Exhibit Halls must arrive on Thursday morning, for Load-In, and ready for the show to begin on Friday morning. Cars must stay in place until Load-Out on Saturday after the completion of the Awards Ceremony, or again on Sunday Morning at 8am.  Sorry, no exceptions.   Before registering, please  click here for more detailed information on Bow Tie Classes.

Legend Concours Class
The Legend Class is our highest level concours competition based on a 5000 point system, for first and second generation Camaros. It is designed to gain progressive improvement over three years within a five year period.  Entrants compete against a maximum number of points available for their particular car, and not against other cars in the class.  Cars to be considered for Legends must have all original VIN tags and cowl tags in place, and those tags must be fully readable and unaltered. Before registering, please  click here for more detailed information on Legend Classes.

Vintage Certifications
The Vintage Certifications are intended to promote the preservation of unrestored vehicles whether whole or in part. Vintage Certification is not for everyone. Clearly, in most competition arenas, additional points are garnered by adhering to an “end of production line” standard of correct newness. Vintage Certification on the other hand adheres to the emerging philosophy that an original car showing wear is preferable to one that is improperly restored. Vintage Certification recognizes all vehicles and encourages the owner to retain and display the car in its present condition. Collectively, Vintage Certification will represent a repository of factory correct standards by which the hobby and serious restorers can all benefit.  Click Here for more information on the Vintage Certification system.
Vintage cars are evaluated insidealong with Legends and Bow Tie classes. Sorry, no exceptions.

Guidelines for the Outdoor Show field:

No tents, pop ups, canopies, or Free Standing Umbrellas are allowed on the show field.  The outdoor show field is blacktop, and per our contract, no stakes may be driven into blacktop areas. A stiff breeze or pop-up thunder storm can cause tens of thousands of dollars of damage to these beautiful cars.  Such damage occurred at Corvettes at Carlisle a few years ago, and just two weeks after our 2023 event, a tent took out several cars at Mecum Harrisburg.

Keep in mind that the Classic Auto Mall is climate controlled, so if you need a break from the weather, the Mall is just steps away.
We have a large Wheel Craft Shade Tent set up in the grass, just off the edge of the black top show field, for use by all attendees looking for some shade to relax.  While at the tent, be sure to say “HI” to those nearby – you just may meet a new friend.  We also provide a  Food Tent near the food vendors, so you can sit and relax while having your lunch.

Individual Tent rentals are available if requested by clubs, vendors etc. Clubs can get credit to help cover the costs of tent rental, based on 10 or more pre-registered members. All tents must be approved by Camaro Nationals and the Classic Auto Mall, and erected by professionals in the grass areas; at locations specified by Camaro Nationals administration.
